My activites deal with the integration of Virtual Reality systems, with a particular attention to Cultural Heritage applications.
My main research interests are in the field of 3D graphics and audio real-time rendering.
Since 2005 I've been appointed contract professor for the course of Virtual Reality at the Computer Science department of the University of Pisa (formerly held by professor Massimo Bergamasco), for which I've been holding lectures since 2001.
In 2006 I attained my Ph.D. at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa with a thesis on Efficient Management of Complex Virtual Environments.
Since November 2006 I started a collaboration as a research fellow at IMT, Lucca, in the area of Technology and Management of Cultural Heritage.
I am a co-founder of VRMedia, a spin-off company of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa dealing with Virtual and Augmented Reality systems and 3D on the web. VRMedia, in cooperation with Percro, is the owner of the XVR technology, an IDE for VR applications.
I've authored and co-authored
more than 30 publications in conference proceedings and book chapters.
